Several
months ago the leaders of the Baptist General Conference made some bold
decisions that included adopting the new missional name, Converge Worldwide. These changes reflect a desire to position our movement of churches for even more effective ministry in the future.
Another way to be proactive about the future is to consider an endowment gift.

 An Educational Endowment Fund for Students of Missionary Families
 Education is
a high priority for all families. There are unique challenges which
missionaries face in educating their children. Often it is extremely
expensive to have to send a child overseas or to a different country to
receive the best education possible.
Recently,
one of our supporters took a short-term assignment in Cameroon. They
volunteered to invest their medical skills at our missionary hospital
atMbingo. Mbingo is a missionary facility which includes treatment for
leprosy.

 Welcome to Pastor Steve Anderson, a new addition to the Converge Worldwide (BGC) staff.
Steve
has stepped into his new role as Assistant to the President and
Regional Representative after serving 28 years as Senior Pastor at
Bethel Church in Owatonna, Minn. His work involves a number of diverse
duties: visiting churches, calling on pastors, visiting missions
committees, meeting with donors, encouraging planned giving, leading
stewardship weekends, directing congregational fund drives, and other
duties as assigned by Dr. Jerry Sheveland or Dr. Lou Petrie.

 Expanding Our Global Ministries
 This issue of Confident Giving
has provided information about endowment giving, and I encourage you to
prayerfully consider an endowment gift. However, I want to also let you
know of an exciting opportunity to help Converge Worldwide (BGC) right now.
This past June at the biennial meeting of our fellowship of churches,
we launched the Advance3 Campaign. This $10 million ministry
advancement effort is multi-faceted in its goals.
Our desire to expand our global ministries is a large part of the campaign. Advance3 will help us expand ministries in Mexico, the Philippines, and among Muslim peoples.
